Training

Under the management of Health & Safety at Work (Regulations) (Northern Ireland) 2000, all staff should receive training at sufficiently regular intervals.  Therefore, anyone likely to have to use Fire Extinguishers should be trained in their use and receive basic instructions in Fire Fighting.

Our Aim:   To provide general fire safety awareness training on portable fire fighting equipment.  This course will equip staff with the information required and practical experience to extinguish fires in the workplace.

Location:   Course is normally held at the customer’s premises.

Duration:  Course takes approximately 2 hours.

Who should attend:   Staff, who may, as part of company fire procedure, use a fire extinguisher to aide escape from premises.

Course Content:  Short talk explaining fire prevention and the proper use of fire extinguishers.

Videos (DVD):  Fire prevention procedures, demonstrating the various types of fire extinguisher.  The correct use of fire extinguisher (correct type of extinguisher to suit fire)

Question & Answer Session:

Practical Experience:  Those attending get the opportunity to use fire extinguisher on flame.  The flames (fire) are produced from our fire stimulator and are controlled by the operator of the stimulator and pose no danger to the extinguisher user.  This experience helps to reinforce the message of the talk and video and gives confidence to the person involved should they ever have to use an extinguisher in the event of fire.

Certification:  Delegates will receive a certificate of attendance and a certificate naming all who attend is issued to the employer.

Numbers:  We recommend a maximum of 15 people per training session.
