Fire Safety Training (Health &
Safety)
Under the management
of Health & Safety at Work Regulations (Northern Ireland)
2000, all staff should receive training at sufficiently regular
intervals. Therefore, anyone likely to have to use Fire
Extinguishers should be trained in their use and receive basic
instructions.
Our aim is to provide general fire safety awareness
training on portable fire fighting equipment. This
course will equip staff with the information required
and practical experience to extinguish fires in the
workplace. The training lasts approximately 2 hours, and
as this is normally held at the customer's premises, all
staff who may need to use a fire extinguisher to aide
escape from the company premises are invited to attend.
Our course includes a short talk on fire prevention, the
proper use of extinguishers, and is accompanied by a video/DVD
showing fire prevention procedures, demonstrations of various
types of extinguishers, and a brief 'how-to' on how to use a
fire extinguisher. Those attending get the opportunity to use
fire extinguisher.
The flames (fire) are produced from our fire stimulator
and are controlled by the operator of the simulator and pose no
danger to the extinguisher user. This experience helps to
reinforce the message of the talk and video and gives confidence
to the person involved should they ever have to use an
extinguisher.
